error opening /usr/share/squirrelmail/data/default_pref

Error of opening /usr/share/squirrelmail/data/default_pref during installation of Squirrelmail is due to permissions.

then use this command

# chmod -R 755 /usr/share/squirrelmail/

simple way is that , this error is because squirrelmail can not access this data directory and data inside it .
so u have to give permissions for that.
after giving permission check it is still there ?
and let me know.
